This ingot is heated to about 700 to 1200° C. to convert it into a viscous state. The heat treatment can be conducted in a special furnace (EP 500®, EP 600®, Ivoclar Vivadent AG). The ingot is embedded in a special investment material. During the heat treatment the ingot will be crystallized. The main crystal phase is then lithium disilicate.
